Hang In
A downloadable game for Windows and Android
"Hang in there, because everyone wants to leave you hangin'!"

NOTE: Due to my current player-hosted networking solution, players can only host to others within their local network (connected to the same wifi router), unless your device has been specifically configured to allow outside connection requests.
Only "192.X.X.X" addresses will work and only for locally connected devices. At some point, I want to upgrade this with a server-hosted option to support mobile devices.
Summary
A card game about tricking your coworkers into biting off more than they can chew. We all have great ideas every day, but they quickly snowball into something bigger than anyone wants to deal with once we try to explain them to others.
Designed for 3-7 players, a standard hand is 1 card more than the number of players. Cards are loosely based on a standard poker deck, with only numerical values between 1 and 20. The game has two phases: the Planning phase decides the value of the pot and which player leads the project, while the Execution phase decides whether the Lead gets to keep their victory.
How to Play
Project Planning Phase: The Pot
- The game begins by each player choosing, in round robin, two cards to add a card to the Project.
- If playing with physical cards, the player to the dealer's left starts. In this web version, the host player always starts.
- This goes around twice, allowing each player to add up to 2 cards to the pot.
- Once both rotations of round robin are done, the player that contributes the highest total value to the pot becomes the project's Lead.
Execution Phase: Scoring
- Now that the Lead is ready to claim the pot, it is the table's chance to crumble their hopes of an easy victory!
- The Lead draws an additional 2 cards.
- The coworkers go round robin, one player against the house at a time.
- Each coworker plays a card to decide the suit, and the house must match or beat its value in order to claim that coworker's slice of the pot.
- If the Lead wins a slice, the sum of the project plus the extra card played by the coworker is added to the their score.
- If the Lead loses a slice, it counts as -1 to their score
Performance Reviews: Winning
- Scored points are kept throughout all rounds until a winner is chosen.
- The first player to accumulate 50 points wins the game.
Breaking Ties
- If a tie happens in phase 1, both tied players will become House for the second phase.
- Both House players must individually match or beat the table's card. The player that plays the highest card gets to claim the more valuable card from that slice of the pot.
- If one House player does not beat the table's card, then the other gets to claim both cards from the pot.
- If a ties happens again in phase 2 between the House players, then the player that played their card first takes the higher value card from the pot.
General Rules
- A card can be played out of suit at any time, but it will be played at a 2:1 value against. (Example: playing an 8 of Office against a Social card will only match a 4 or less)
- The rule of half value only applies to comparing cards against each other. A Table card outside the pot's suit that is played against the Lead in phase 2 will still be scored at full value after the Lead wins it.
